Tifton- The GBI says a Tifton police officer followed proper protocol in the shooting of an armed robbery suspect at the Piggly Wiggly in Tifton.
The GBI handed over their copy of the investigation to the Tift County District Attorney Friday and found Tifton police officer Dorminey McCrae was justified when he shot 48-year old Craig Plymel in the head Monday night.
Plymel was holding 16-year old clerk Casey Touchton at gunpoint near the front of the store during the robbery. Plymel remains in critical condition at a hospital in Macon.
