Former Berrien Sheriff receives probation

April 10, 2008

Macon - The former Berrien County Sheriff was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to a federal gun charge.

Jerry Brogdon received to five years probation for returning a gun to a convicted felon. He also must pay a $2000 fine.

In August, Brogdon resigned as Sheriff after entering a guilty plea in a Macon federal courtroom.

Brogdon is one of many leaders who have been prosecuted as the FBI continues their probe into the Alapaha Judicial Circuit.
