Albany--  U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss wants to make sure National Guard and Reserve members get the benefits they deserve.

On Wednesday, he introduced The National Guard and Reserve Retired Pay Equity Act of 2008. It builds on an act signed into law in January.

That law allows Guardsmen and Reservists to qualify for retirement pay early. They can get those benefits three months early for every 90-days they served on active duty. But the original law only applies to service after the bill was signed.

The new bill would be retroactive to September 11th, 2001.
