Washington--According to new reports from the FDA, the number of deaths associated with allergic reactions to bad batches of heparin have tripled. 

The Food and Drug Administration now says 62 deaths are being reported.

The FDA is also reporting 103 deaths among heparin patients since January 2007. This number includes the 62 deaths associated with allergic reactions. 

The number of patients who died since January of last year were users of all brands of heparin.
