Albany -- An Albany man is hospitalized after he was stabbed multiple times Friday night by his girlfriend's son.

It happened just before 8 p.m. inside a home at 1211 Bonny View Avenue.

Police say that's where 34-year-old Shalo Dewayne Chandler stabbed 55-year-old Willie Jenkins 5 to 6 timeS in the chest and stomach area.

The suspect's mother told police her son came into Jenkins' bedroom with a knife 4 - 5 inches in length and began stabbing him.

He was rushed to Phoebe-Puntey Memorial Hospital with his injuries, but Chandler fled the scene and remains on the run.

Chandler is 5-foot-10, 333 pounds.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Albany Police.

As of Saturday night, Jenkins' remained in fair condition.
