Albany -- Last October, the city of Albany challenged Savannah to a wellness competition to see which city could get healthier.

Thursday night, Albany's participants were honored for their success.

15 families in Albany participated in challenge to lower their weight, blood pressure and cholesterol.

Poppi Kramer,  the winner of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" Season 3 at-home challenge was the guest speaker at a ceremony where the Claud family was named Albany's biggest losers.

"I feel great because its not just a competition thing - it's a new way of living. It's a brand new lifestyle for us," said Carlita Claud. She, along with her husband Innis and their two children received a first-place check for $2,500.00.

"I cant believe the ripple effect its created in towns I didn't even know about. When I come down here and see them doing it for themselves, and taking the initiative. It inspires me to continue on the journey that I've been on," said Kramer. The comedian-actress lost nearly half her body weight throughout the hit NBC show "The Biggest Loser."

Willis Riggins won the youth category.

Challenge officials say they should know the results of the Albany-Savannah Challenge in the next couple of weeks.
