Albany - The South Georgia Wildcats not only lost many of their top offensive performers from last year's squad.
They also lost two of their top cover corners in Daryon Brutley and Matt Jackson.
Wildcats head coach Derek Stingley has had to find some new guys to shut down opposing wide receivers.
One of those getting his chance is Roland Cola.
A reserve much of last season, Cola is getting his chance to show what he can do as an every down defensive back in the AF2.
Roland says he may not have played a lot in 2007 but what he learned is helping him this season.
Roland Cola said "You see the offense and see what they are coming out in and it comes to be real fast. Last year, i was kind of lost and it was just a process."
South Georgia Wildcats play their home opener Saturday night at the Albany Civic Center against the Louisville Fire.
Both teams are ranked in the top ten in this week's AF2 coaches poll.
