Thomasville-- Detectives say 19-year-old Kenneth Young and another man robbed a beauty supply store on Broad Street downtown. They say the men pointed a gun at the store owner, and she gave them an undisclosed amount of cash and some costume jewelry.
The suspects ran out of the store. Police caught up with Young just a few blocks away and also recovered the gun.
Sergeant Melven Johnson with the Thomasville Police Department says, "At the time we recovered the weapon, we did not recover the money and the jewelry that was taken, there was one subject that was able to elude the police department."
Young is in custody. All police know about his partner is that he goes by the name of CJ or "D". If you have any information about the identity of this man, call Crimestoppers in Thomasville at (229) 227-3305.
