Albany -- Albany-native Dwayne Hale stuck his approach shot with in three feet of the cup, then calmly rolled in the birdie putt to give himself and teammate Blake Clanton a win in the 20th annual Georgia Four-Ball tournament at River Pointe Golf Club Sunday.
Hale and Clanton were tied with fellow Albanians Andrew Dismuke and Craig Taylor, who had already posted a round of 71, heading into the final hole.
Finishing on the 9th at River Pointe, Hale would collect his only birdie of the round, giving the team a tournament record total of 199 (-17).
"It was really just, try to hit a good shot," says Hale. "I just said get it in the middle of the green, and hopefully we get in a playoff with them. It just happened to get up there close, and thank goodness."
This is the second-straight win in the tournament for Hale, last year taking the title with Craig Taylor.
