March 28, 2008

Cordele --  Police are looking for two murder suspects after an overnight fight ended in deadly gunfire. Police were called to the 600 block of 22nd Avenue in the Sunset Homes housing project just about 3:00AM Friday.

20-year old Dwayne Waters and Dontaye Gordon were involved in an ongoing dispute with Tito Troutman and 19-year old Rekeldric Jones. Investigators say Troutman and Jones pulled handguns and fired at Waters and Gordon.

"There were two victims in the shooting," said Cordele Police  Chief Dwayne Orrick. "The first was Dwayne Waters, and he's currently at Crisp Regional Hospital being treated for injuries, and also Dontaye Gordon age 20 of Cordele. He was shot in the leg and abdomen and he died as a result of gunshot wounds this morning."

Police say by the time they arrived. Gordon and Waters were already at the hospital and Troutman and Jones were gone.

Anyone with information about the fight or the whereabouts of Troutman or Jones is asked to call the Cordele Police.
