Cairo - The City Manager in Cairo is leaving his job.
William Whitson submitted his letter of resignation to the Mayor and City Council Monday night.
Whitson wrote that it became clear that he did not share a common vision or goals with the council and in order for city to move forward, they need to have one united team.
Whitson has been City Manager for 15 months.
His resignation will be effective March 31.
