Albany --  The founding president of Albany's two year college has died.

At Darton College, flags were lowered to half staff on campus because of the death of Dr. B. R. Tilley.

In 1965 Tilley was the founding president of Albany Junior College that later be came Darton College. Just las month, the college's Academic Services Building was named in his honor. Sadly days after he attended the dedication he fell ill.

"It is chilling in a way almost, because he got sick shortly after the dedication, within I think 24 or 48 hours, so the timing was amazing and we are so, so grateful that we were able to do the dedication and have him here," said Krista Robitz of Darton College.

Dr. B. R. Tilley died Saturday at Palmyra Medical Center. He was 90.
