Albany - Game week is here for the South Georgia Wildcats.
The Wildcats open the season Saturday night at Tennessee Valley.
Head coach Derek Stingley says the current roster will undergo some changes in the early part of the season.
Stingley says he is very concerned about the defensive line that lost Joe Woolrdige to the Kansas City Brigade.
The Wildcats hope to make some trades or sign a free agent or two that may have been released over the weekend when AF2 teams were trimming their rosters to the league limit.
The Wildcats are also waiting for fullback/linebacker Archil Gulua to join the team.
Gulua is an international player from the Republic of Georgia in Eastern Europe.
Stingley also says fullback-linebacker Derrick Lloyd is expected to join the team next week.
The other big question mark for the Wildcats is at quarterback where last season's backup Cecil Lester will start Saturday against the Vipers. Walter Washington is second on the depth chart and Bruce Eugene is third.
Stingley says unlike last year when the Wildcats started the season with D.Bryant and Julian Reese as co-starting quarterbacks, Cecil Lester will get his chance Saturday to show if he can lead the Wildcats back to the AF2 playoffs this season.
Derek Stingley said "I am not going with two quarterbacks situation like I did last year. It is solely his for week one. No matter how well we are playing or how bad we are playing. He will play the entire game."
The Wildcats open the season at Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. at Tennessee Valley.
The home opener is April 5th at 7:30 p.m. against the Louisville Fire.
