Albany -- Dougherty County elementary students got to enjoy music on the lawn of their school Friday.

Hundreds of students at the Lamar Reese Magnet School of the Arts were entertained by orchestras and choirs from Radium Middle School of the Arts and the Albany State University jazz band.

March is National Music in our schools month. Arts teachers want to keep kids interested in music. Lamar Reese Fine Arts Chair George Deriso said "we're just showing them a plethora of the things they can be involved in musically. How these kids use music to enhance their studies and music careers."

The students enjoyed dance ensembles in addition to jazz and dance music.
