An Alabama judge ordered a Sumter County man back to Americus to face murder charges. Johnny Ray Cochran fought extradition.  He's charged with murdering Melony Strickland.

Cochran was considered a suspect shortly after Strickland was found shot to death in her Middle River Road home last August.  Cochran was stopped on an Alabama Highway in September.

Deputies expect to bring him back to Sumter County early next week.
