Cuthbert -- The chairman of the Randolph County School Board loses his redistricting challenge in federal court.

Henry Cook said in 2006 that the district lines redrawn in 2002 put him in a district with more than 70 percent white voters.

Previously he represented a predominantly black district.

In his lawsuit, Cook alleged the action violated his right to due process, as well as his rights under the First, 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments.

The U.S. District Court judge disagreed and entered a summary judgment earlier this year in favor of Randolph County officials.
