Thomasville -- Cops in Thomas County donned aprons and got cooking Thursday night to raise money.
Thomasville Police Department and the Thomas county Sheriff's Office rely every year on their barbecue fundraiser to raise money for Crime Stoppers.
They started up their anonymous crime tip hotline about two years ago and say its been a successful tool in fighting crime.
"It gives the community a chance to kind of step in the shoes of a law enforcement officer and really make a difference when they know something," said Lt. Rachelle Denmark of the Thomasville Police Department.
The community also helped Thursday night by buying barbecue meals at $7.00 a plate.
