Lakeland - The Lanier County Elementary School is celebrating seven years of academic achievements, a goal that could soon land them on the pages of TIME Magazine.

Students of the school were honored in a Renaissance Academic Pep Rally.

The Renaissance program explores alternative ways to improve grades and fight the drop out rate.

Since beginning the program they've seen a huge increase in the attendance rate, parent support and better grades.

Next year, every school in the county will begin the program.

TIME Magazine has recognized their achievements too and the school is hoping to be in the magazine in August.
