Dinner...and a rhino

March 20, 2008

Chehaw Park -- You might think a fun night out includes of dinner and a movie. How about dinner and rhino?

Visitors to the Parks at Chehaw got to dine with a rhinoceros Thursday night.

Of course, they didn't share the same menu. But they did get an up close and personal look at the Dubya, an African Black Rhino.

"The whole point of these events is to give people an opportunity to have an intimate experience with the rhinos, the rhino keeper and the staff to really get some good knowledge about the rhinos," said The Parks at Chehaw Executive Director Doug Porter.

While the guests feasted on pasta, Dubya had a mixture of apples, carrots and herbivore pellets.

Chehaw will host breakfast with the Cheetahs soon.
