Darton College goes to the dogs

March 20, 2008

Albany -- It was a day for the dogs, and all kinds of pets  at Darton College Thursday.

It was the first Animal Appreciation Day at Darton College. Students, faculty, and staff brought their pets to school.  And even got a chance to have their pets picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities, it was a chance for the people at the college to get to know each other, and their pets, better.

Darton College Student Activities Director Eric O'Cain said "I find very few people who don't love their animals. I thought it was a great opportunity for people to bring their pets out. We also have Chehaw Park and some other educational groups here."

They even had ugliest dog and cutiest dog contests for the pets.   Darton College hopes to make this an annual event.
