Albany - The South Georgia Wildcats are just about ready to kick off the AF2 season.
The team hosted a kickoff party Tuesday night where fans got to talk to coach Derek Stingley and the players about the coming season.
Wildcat fans have been looking forward to 2008 after last season when the team won ten games and made it to the conference semifinals in the playoffs.
General manager Darren McPhail said "There is a little bit more excitement and certainity this year than there was last year. It kind of helps obviously to come off a 10-6 season versus the previous seasons."
The South Georgia Wildcats open the season on the road March 29th at Tennessee Valley.
The home opener is April 5th at the Civic Center.
