Motorcyclist leads deputies on high speed chase

March 18, 2008

Seminole County--  Thirty-three-old Jeffrey Barber was riding a motorcycle on Clem Copeland Road around 4:15 yesterday afternoon.

He refused to stop when a deputy tried to pull him over for not wearing a helmet. Barber crashed after a 3 mile high speed chase. Deputies say Barber then got up and ran.

A GSP helicopter and a team of tracking dogs were brought in, and authorities captured Barber about 2 and a half hours later.

Barber is charged with attempting to elude, driving with a suspended license, speeding, and several other traffic violations.
