Albany -- After months of work on a new sign ordinance, Albany City Commissioners got a look at the final proposal Tuesday.

The plan would regulate how frequently messages on digital signs can change. The plan also lays out how often a billboard will have to be inspected by an engineer.

"They are recommending a minute change in the message on billboards and free standing ground signs in retail areas with the exception of that they are doing an eight year inspection of every billboard city wide," said Planning Director, Howard Brown.

City commissioners are scheduled to vote on the proposal next Tuesday.
