Ashburn -- Two South Georgia high school athletes signed college scholarships at Turner County high school Monday, despite the fact one of them never suited up for the Rebels.
Turner County senior Justin Moore signed to play football at Carson Newman next season, while his cousin Ryan White, a Lanier County senior, signed with the Eagles to play baseball.
Moore will ba making a position change with Carson Newman next season, moving from DE/TE to linebacker.
White is a middle infielder with power, homering for the Bulldogs in the state playoffs last season, and says he's looking forward to attending Carson Newman with his cousin.
"Just the facilities, the campus, and him going makes it easier," says White.
Moore says, "When ever they offered him for baseball, that influenced me more."
The Carson Newman football team finished 10-and-1 last season.
