Bainbridge-- A resolution passed by the Georgia House of Representatives dubs Bainbridge the "Bass Capital of Georgia".

The resolution says the city on the Flint River is known as the gateway to Lake Seminole, ranked by many anglers as site of some of the best bass fishing in the country.

City officials say the title may now be official, but they've always thought of Bainbridge as the Bass Capital of Georgia.  Bainbridge City Manager, Chris Hobby said, "I think Lake Seminole was already on the radar screen for serious bass fishermen. This will help us get some of those other folks and also it will help us in our tournament recruitment."

City leaders are working to make the city even more attractive to fishermen and tournaments by building new boat ramps and a marina.
