Douglas -- It has been a over a year since 39-year-old Doris Worrell was murdered at what is now known as The Fun Place in Douglas, a park her family owned.

"Early in the morning before business hours, Mrs. Doris Worrell was shot and killed. She died of a gun shot wound," said Coffee County Sheriff Captain, Scott Harper.

"It was a very big shock to our community. Mrs. Doris Worrell was a very loved member of our community. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church here and several civic organizations."

Since September 20th 2006, Coffee County deputies and Georgia Bureau Investigators have been looking for leads. "After consulting with District Attorney Rick Curry we have been allowed to make two arrest warrants in this case," said Harper.

Coffee County deputies arrested 39-year-old Glidden Humberto Rodriguez and 20-year-old Brandon Eugene Cage with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

"At the time of the murder, Glidden Rodriguez was an employee of the sports park. Brandon Cage was not, but at the time of the arrest last week was an employee of that park," said Harper.

But there are still many unanswered questions. Authorities refuse to say what the they believe was the motive in the case. And the two are not charged with robbery which again raises more questions about why she was killed.

"The investigation will continue and we will work together with the G-B-I. It is still a very, very, very active case. And we will continue forward with the investigation and see where it leads from here," said Harper.

But these arrests may lead to answers in a case that has left family and friends with questions for over a year.

This case is active and investigations are still on-going. If you have any information on this murder, call the GBI Douglas Office at 912-389-4103. You can also contact the Coffee County Sheriff Department.
