Tifton -- A 65-year-old Tifton man was hospitalized Saturday morning after police say he was pistol whipped during a home invasion.

It happened in the 500 block of Elm Street in Tifton.

Police say that two young black men knocked on the victims door a little at 6:22 Saturday morning.

When the victim came to the door, the two men entered demanding money.

One of them pulled a gun and fired a shot, but the victim was not hit.

The two men ran away on foot after hitting the man in the head.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tifton Police.
