Man injured in Tifton home invasion

Tifton -- A 65-year-old Tifton man was hospitalized Saturday morning after police say he was pistol whipped during a home invasion.

It happened in the 500 block of Elm Street in Tifton.

Police say that two young black men knocked on the victims door a little at 6:22 Saturday morning.

When the victim came to the door, the two men entered demanding money.

One of them pulled a gun and fired a shot, but the victim was not hit.

The two men ran away on foot after hitting the man in the head.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
