Rock for the Children jams out for good cause

March 14, 2008

Albany -- A dozen rock groups from across the South are in Albany this weekend jamming for a good cause.

The International Children's Relief Organization is hosting the 2008 Rock for the Children Rockfest at Hooters.

It started Friday evening and continues Saturday afternoon.

Organizers invite everyone to the concert which will benefit needy children both locally and in Africa.

"We started our own charity this past year and we're rasing money for AIDS orphans in Africa. We actually sponsored an orphanage over in Africa. We're rasing for a child advocacy center over in Tifton, Georgia to help out with the investigation of abused children," said Chris Wogan with the International Children's Relief Organization.

The concert will go on from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Hooters on Old Dawson Road.
