 March 14, 2008

Tifton -- A two-county chase reached speeds over 100-miles per hour and ended only after the tires were flattened on both the car being chased and a sheriff's vehicle.

31-year-old Antoan Simmons of Orlando, Florida is charged with marijuana possession and 16 traffic violations for the chase from Interstate-75 in Tifton to Norman Park in Colquitt County.

A Tift County Sheriff's deputy tried to stop Simmons on Interstate-75 for a seat belt violation. He took off and got all the way to Norman Park in Colquitt County.

At one point he ran a driver off Carpenter Road near Unity Tabernacle Church.  A passenger, 31-year old Christopher Sipp also of Orlando, is charged with seat belt violation and allowing an unlicensed driver to operate his vehicle.
