Valdosta - A Valdosta woman is behind bars, accused of setting fire to her own apartment.

24-year-old Chasity Worthy is charged with arson.

Police and firefighters responded to her apartment complex on Charlton Street Wednesday evening.

Investigators believe she set fire to her sofa then walked away.

The fire also damaged three other apartments in the complex.  "It started at Apartment four and when we first got there we were told by some of the residents there and some of the witnesses that they were suspicious of what was going on and quite frankly, suspicious of Ms. Worthy," says Commander Brian Childress of the Valdosta Police.

Police say no one else was home at the time.

They say they may file more charges.
