Albany -- The Food Bank of Southwest Georgia needs your help to earn up to $50,000 in grant money.

The Food Bank announced Tuesday it will participate in the 11th annual Feinstein Million Dollar Giveaway to fight hunger.

A million dollars will be divided between hunger-fighting agencies nationwide.

The more money raised locally in March and April, the more money the food bank will get from the Feinstein Foundation.

You can help by donating food or money.

"Twenty-one percent of our population here in Southwest Georgia is at or below the poverty level. So we have a huge need for food assistance in our area. If nothing else, partnering with this foundation will help raise hunger awareness," said Brett Kirkland, Southwest Georgia Food Bank President and CEO.

The Feinstein Challenge runs through April 30th.

You can send your contributions or pledges to P.O. Box 71235, Albany, GA, 31708-1235.

Make sure you include on the check the contribution is for the Feinstein Challenge.
