Valdosta - Lowndes County Is the latest to honor the return to service of Georgia's official submarine.
Monday, County officials displayed the flag that will be presented to the crew of the USS Georgia later this month.
The nuclear submarine just received a two-year, one billion dollar overhaul.
The sub was damaged while offloading missiles in 2003.
The ceremony also honored the family of Joel Humphrey, a nuclear electrician from Valdosta who is now stationed aboard the sub.
"We were up in Norfolk for a long time. He went through the whole refit. He was working hard. Long hours but he got it done and now they are out to see," says Joel's wife Casey.
The sub will return to King's Bay Naval Submarine Base for its official return to service ceremony on March 28th.
That day has been proclaimed at USS Georgia day in Lowndes County.
