Valdosta -- The Valdosta State women's basketball team earned a #6 seed in the NCAA Division II national tournament.
The Lady Blazers will play at #3 Tampa in the opening round of the South Regional this Friday, with the time to be determined.
The game is a rematch of the opening round last year, which VSU won 64-57.
The Lady Spartans beat Valdosta State 64-55 this season at the West Georgia tournament back in November.
Conference foe Delta State is the top-seed in the South Region, meaning the games will be played in Cleveland, Mississippi.
The Gulf South Conference earned four bids overall, the SIAC collected two.
