Stabbing sends one to the hospital and another to jail

March 4, 2008

Sylvester -- A stabbing in Sylvester Tuesday morning when roommates got into an argument.

Police were called to 305 West Martin Luther King Drive around noon where Gregory Ewings was stabbed in the neck and abdomen.

They arrested his roommate, 64-year-old James Bailey. Police don't know the motive for the crime, but say Bailey was drinking.

"He was like bleeding everywhere. Blood was just gushing out his head, and he was just hanging down. We asked the guy if he was okay, and he said he was. But I didn't feel like he was okay. So I called the police, and they called the ambulance," said neighbor, Diane Mack.

Ewing is hospitalized in Albany. Bailey was cut on the head. He's in the Worth County jail.
