Albany -- An Albany hospital is hitting the track for health. Phoebe Putney kicked of its Start Walking Program Monday.

They are encouraging employees to walk 900,000 steps by May 30th. They also gave the participants T-shirts and pedometers.

"We just want to encourage Albany to get out and walk. This is good for you. Good for your heart. Good for your family. Just come on out and just start walking where ever you are.Where ever you go to school or work. Just start walking," said Health Works Director Julian Maddox.

Phoebe Putney Memorial teamed up with the American Heart Association to put on this program.
