March 1, 2008

Sumter County -- Sumter Regional unveiled its new recovery campaign Saturday at the festivities.

Sumter Regional hospital took a direct hit from the March first tornado one year ago. But Saturday the hospital had a tent set up at the "No Place Like Home" anniversary.

People received a new brochure or an "I am going to Sumter Regional" sticker or t-shirt to celebrate the next step in their recovery process.

"As you well know we have been working from the temporary facility we had for urgent care. Now the interim facility is opening April 1st. So these are T-shirts that we have with our new slogan, 'I am going to Sumter Regional.'

We have brochures. We have bumper stickers ,and we are just trying to let the whole community know we are coming back," said Vice President of Marketing, Comfort Green.

Authentic bricks from the damaged hospital were also sold. Sumter Regional's new hospital is projected to be ready by the summer of 2010.
