Albany -- A happy ending to a heartbreaking story - a Shitszu who disappeared from her owner's car at the Albany Lowe's, has been located.

We're awaiting details, but owner Rick Barker says the dog was found in a camper behind the Elks Lodge on Philema Road.

Kay Barker left the dog inside her car at Lowe's Thursday afternoon.

When she came back, Mitzi was gone.

The Barkers launched a huge search, enlisting the help of WALB News 10 viewers and handing out fliers to vets and dog groomers around the area.

A viewer who saw Mitzi's story on our news spotted her  late Thursday afternoon.

She then went to our website, walb.com, to look at the picture and make sure it was the right dog.  It was!!

The Barkers live in Crisp County and we will talk with them and meet little Mitzi tomorrow.

We hope to find out how the dog ended up miles away from Lowe's and whether a crime was committed.

Don't you love stories with happy endings?  We do!
