Homerville-- A Clinch County volunteer firefighter, who died after collapsing during training, was buried Wednesday.
48-year-old Joey Turner collapsed Thursday during a drill at the Georgia Fire Academy at Forsyth where the class was in full gear.
He received CPR at the scene and was eventually taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia at Macon. His family made the decision Saturday to remove him from life support systems.
Turner was manager of a Homerville auto parts store and was a Marine reservist.
His funeral was conducted at the Congregational Methodist Church where firefighters from around the state served as an honor guard.
