Thomasville--  A hotel employee is accused of stealing from his work place.   Sunday deputies got a call from the Holiday Inn Express in Thomasville after a $1200 night deposit was reported stolen.

A manager told deputies this is the third time its happened.  Investigator Tim Watkins with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office said, "there was enough room underneath the office managers door which was locked. The clerks would actually take the money and just slide it underneath. He was able to fish it back out."

Deputies arrested Robert "Eddie" Stephens, a hotel employee.  They say he admits to stealing the money all three times, around $3,000 total.

Deputies recovered $800 of the stolen money in Stephens wallet.
