Lakeland - Full accreditation has been restored to the Lanier County School system.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools placed the school system on probation in 2005, saying board members overstepped their boundaries and interfered too much with the daily operations of the schools.
Since then, they've been taking steps to improve the system from superintendent evaluations to retreats to set school goals.
The school system has made improvements and SACS agreed.
Thursday SACS voted unanimously to take the Lanier County School system off probation.
