Tifton -- ABAC celebrates their 100th birthday Wednesday.

The celebrations started Wednesday morning with a visual presentation looking back, as well as, looking ahead on the years to come.

George T. Smith is a distinguished alumna from the class of 1940.

Smith is the only man in Georgia history to be elected to Speaker of the House, Lieutenant Governor and Georgia Supreme Justice.

He said he was able to accomplish all this from his foundation at ABAC. "You apply yourself where ever you go, the school has to be there to give you the opportunities, but you have to take advantage of it."

"We've had a a great first 100, and we plan to stay committed to provide educational opportunities to young folks from around the state, country and around the world," said ABAC President, David Bridges.

Fireworks and a concert Wednesday night will highlight ABAC's centennial celebrations.
