Copper thieves hit up Albany Tech

Albany--  They've hit homes and businesses, even churches. Now copper thieves have targeted an area school.

Wednesday afternoon, Albany Tech employee Teddy Barrett went to a school warehouse on South Slappey and immediately noticed something was wrong.

He told police someone forced their way in and stole used copper wire from a pallet and wire from the ceiling. Some was even taken from a disconnected electric panel. In all, about 1000 feet was stolen which is an estimated value of $4,000.

There is some evidence. The culprit left a glove and spotlight behind.
