Cairo- The Cairo High girls moved back into a tie with Westover for first place in region 1-AAA with a 58-48 win over Crisp County Thursday.
The win sets up a showdown Friday between the Syrupmaids and Lady Patriots.
The winner earns top seed and will host the region 1-AAA semifinals and finals.
The Cairo boys beat Crisp County 66-48 to stay one game behind first place Westover.
The Patriots however have clinched the top seed because the Patriots would win a tiebreaker.
If Cairo loses to Westover and Dougherty wins against Monroe on Friday, then there will be a coin flip Saturday to determine whether Cairo or Dougherty gets the second seed and automatic berth to the GHSA state tournament.
