Valdosta - Valdosta's Total Retail pull factor is top in the state.

That's just one announcement Mayor John Fretti made Thursday in his state of the city speech.

Fretti says the retail pull went up nearly 27% from 2006, growing from number four in the state to number one.

He says introduced five new goals for 2008.

Fretti hopes to connect downtown a wireless network, asked the Airport Authority to help bring in parcel package, freight and manufacturing industries at the airport, set up a 311 municipal services customer call center and asked the general assembly to pass a bill to eliminate property taxes in the city limits.

He hopes his new initiative will help make Valdosta just as successful in 2008.
