Gambling operation shut down

February 6, 2008

Thomasville-- A suspected gambling operation was shut down in Thomasville Wednesday afternoon.

The Thomas County Sheriff's office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have been investigating Rick's Country Store.  Wednesday they confiscated 8 game machines from the store.

They say people who won on the machines were supposed to receive merchandise as prizes, but instead the store was paying out cash. GBI agents say they're still determining who will be charged in the case.
