Valdosta - An injured worker was rescued after an accident at a Lowndes County construction site Tuesday morning.

The worker fell from the second floor of a work site in front of the North Wind Apartments off Oak Street Extension. The man complained of possible back and head injuries and could not be carried down a ladder.

Lowndes County Fire and Rescue called for help from the Valdosta Fire Department. They brought an Aerial Platform truck to get the injured man down.

"All we have to do is contact our dispatcher, dispatchers will contact city of Valdosta's dispatchers and it basically allows us to spread out our resources and have a larger resource bank to use outside our department," says Capt David LaPlant.

The worker was treated at South Georgia Medical Center and released.
