Valdosta -- The first hit in the Greg Guilliams era is a home run, but the Blazers baseball team dropped a double-header at home against Francis Marion 10-2 and 9-8.
Guilliams taking over for long-time VSU baseball coach Tommy Thomas, who retired after 40 seasons on the job last year.
Jon Koenigsfeld led off the bottom of the 3rd inning with a home run in game one, the first hit of the year for the Blazers.
VSU and Francis Marion wrap up the series Sunday at 1pm in Valdosta.
