Albany -- South Georgia's largest hospital is trying to get the word out about the nation's number one killer, and they're turning part of the town red to remind you.

These lights outside Phoebe Putney Hospital will remain red during February, in recognition of heart health month.

And Phoebe health works wants men and women to know what they can do to prevent heart disease.

This month, they'll host lectures about heart disease, heart healthy cooking demonstrations, and classes to help you kick the tobacco habit.

Phoebe Health Works Director Julian Maddox says, "Just for February, we're letting people know about heart disease and being heart aware. But every month of the year, health works makes sure that their employees have programs and events to keep them on track for fitness."

Phoebe also put up red lights outside One Meredyth Plaza on Meredyth Drive and Phoebe Northwest on Dawson Road.
