Dawson -- A former Albany police officer is charged with setting his own home on fire.
Chris Harris is charged with arson and criminal damage to property following a January 20th fire at his home on 1381 Doverel Highway in Terrell County.
Harris was taken to the Crisp County Jail Friday morning shortly after he surrendered to Terrell County deputies.
He was not brought back to Dawson for a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
Superior Court Judge Joe Bishop set bond at a $1,000 cash bond or a $5,000 property bond.
Harris' mother posted the $1,000 cash bond.
His wife, Tammy Harris, testified that the two have been going through a divorce.
Harris currently works in the rental property business.
The case will go before the grand jury before a trial date is set.
