Cold shooting costs Rams first home loss

Albany -  After playing two overtimes on Tuesday, the Albany State basketball team apparently could not recharge in time with the Rams losing 43-42 to Miles College on Thursday.

Why the Rams lost is easy to see in the fact Albany State scored just four field goals and 12 points in the first half and shot just 27% from the field for the game.

James Clark was Albany State's leading scorer with 11 points and Tyrone Evans and Jerrell Emory both had 10 points each.

Leon McKinney led the the Bears with 15 points.

Albany State (8-8, 6-6) tries to rebound from their first loss at home when the Rams host Morehouse on Saturday.

The Albany State Lady Rams got hot in the second half and pulled way for an 84-63 win over the Miles College Lady Bears.

The Lady Rams led by just three points at half but shot 64% from the field in the second half to earn to run their SIAC record to 8-4.

Nikia Trice had a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds and Aldrany Peak scored 15 for the Lady Rams.

Cyntonia Jones led Miles with 20 points.

The Lady Rams next game is Tuesday against Clark Atlanta at the HPER Gym.
